Give Peace A Chance ♥

"Imagine all the people living life in peace."

When I hear this line, I can't help but feel hopeful. John Lennon, the writer of "Imagine" dreamed of a world with nothing that could divide people, such as countries, religion, heaven or hell, possessions, and greed or hunger. He just wanted everyone to live together in harmony. "Imagine" was John Lennon's idea of a perfect world.

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you will join us, and the world will live as one."

Even though his ideas of world peace are far-fetched, there are other people all over the world who share the same vision.

"Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try. No hell below us, above us only sky."

I believe Lennon isn't diminishing the idea of God and religion, but is diminishing the idea of separating people into categories of heaven and hell. He thought everyone should love each other, so there would be no reason to have a place for holy people and a place for the evil people. There would be no evil people.

"Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can. No need for greed or hunger, a brotherhood of man."

Possessions are just material items that make people greedy and jealous toward one another. If there were no such thing, people wouldn't have as much to fight about. People get consumed with themselves. Everyone is engrossed with what they own, what they want, and what they can't have. Obviously, there will always be possessions, and some people will always possess more than others. But it's a nice tranquil thought, right?
All you need is love.
RIP John Lennon.
